Saturday Evening Out With Friends

Last Saturday evening, a group of friends were supposed to get together for dinner. We had decided to go to Uncle Charlie's Pizza in Edinboro, PA. Well, rather than travel all the way to Edinboro, we decided to meet for dinner in Lake City. A pizza place there called Jim and Sues.  Is a small family place.  It came down from over 8 people, to just 4 of us. Margie, and myself, her son Cory and his girlfriend Ashley.

After dinner, we decided to go bowling.  That is a sport I have not partaken in over 20 years.  With such little notice, I did not have any of my arthritis meds with me.  I did have Aleve.  I popped two of them, and off we went.  Very 1st frame, I bowled a double gutter ball.  One on each side. LOL  Strange thing about the alleys in Lake City, they show you how fast you roll the ball.  Like a lot of sports, it is a useless statistic.  First game, even with the bad start, I ended up bowling a whopping 86.  That was good enough for second place.

Now, At the very beginning, I had started my set up at rear most lines.  I could not get my steps right at all.  I moved up to next set of lines, and there were still too many steps for me.  With my bad knees, it ended up I faced off less that 5 feet from foul line, and just shuffled a few paces and released.

I felt the burn in my knees before first game was even over.  By second game, my knees were popping with every step I took.  I admit, with the aleve, I was not in great pain, but I could feel the pops with every step. Second game, i improved on my score. I ended the evening with a 97.  Woo Hoo!  does a happy shuffle.

Well, got home, and the knees were doing a burn.  I felt the heat radiating from them. I  could not get comfortable at all sitting.  I remembered from my other client, when ever you are feeling down, and sad, and hurting, to give her two friends a call.  I was hesitant, but she had made the introductions, so I guess I felt the obligation to give them a try. She gave me their names and a sample at one time that I had taken her shopping.

I was hesitant to ask these two guys into my home, but I was hurting, and my friend had recommended them, so I gave my call out to her friends Ben and Jerry.  I tried Cherry Garcia.  Was supposed to be cherry ice cream, with chocolate chunks, as well as pieces of Cherries.  Cherry chunks were quite large when found, and yes, chocolate strips were in there as promised, but, over all especially for the price, i was not overly impressed. But, they did help get my mind off of the hurt a bit.  Who can stay feeling hurt when you have some ice cream.

My Date With A Cougar

We talked on the phone.... We decided to meet....... She chose for a late night rendezvous. I was to pick her up at midnight.  We drove for a bit, and then found a quite place to chat and pass some time. It was lit, and the few other people around were all in quiet conversations.  We sat and chatted And about 2:30 AM, we went out for a short walk in the brisk air.  As we got a bit chilled, we came back inside, rode the elevator down, and then went thru the tunnel before making our way out to the car.

Mind you now, I am not a 20 something year old person. I am at the time of this writing 53.  On the way home, all the bars are closed already, so we decide to go to Mighty Fine Donuts, and have a coffee and a danish.  Some younger rowdy kids came in and were a bit surprised to see some older people out and about at this time, and they surely were under the influence of some alcohol, but it did not matter.  We were there together.

I delivered her home just after 3 AM, and I made sure that she made it into her house ok, and then I came home.  Since we stayed out so late, I had to give her a wake up call at 8:30 in the morning.

OKAY Y'ALL, get your mind out of the gutter.  Her son had come up to stay with her for over a week, and he was going home by AMTRAK, and the train was over an hour late.  It was my school friend from way back in the day, and his mother wanted to see him off.  btw:  She is 89 yrs old.  So, clean up your act!  LOL

Up Up and Away Feb Photo Challenge

Today's entries concern word UP.  First off I would like to start with the Bicentennial Tower. Located at 7 State Street along Dobbins Landing in Erie, Pennsylvania is the 138 foot tall Bicentennial Tower. The tower was built in 1995 to celebrate Erie's 200th anniversary and overlooks Presque Isle Bay and the historic bayfront district.  Here are two views from beneath.

I next went to Horizontal Up.  Over the winter season, Erie hosts a few cargo haulers.  The longest are at 1000 feet long.  They are the longest that can fit thru the locks to enter into the other great Lakes.

So much for man made items, Shall we view a few from Nature.

And lastly, to bid adieu for today's photos, I will give a HIGH FIVE and some fin to say Adios.  I promise to make up for lagging behind, and will get caught up to date as tomatoes do and I will catch-up (catsup)

Out My Window Feb Photo Challenge

As I look out my windows one day, the scenery can change from minute to minute.  I start my morning, looking out of my window in the house.  it was snowing, and ground was covered.

Wait a few more hours, and a warm from comes blowing in, and albeit we got warmer weather, we also got high winds.  Snows melt and waves rise higher upon the beach.

A bit later, I was driving to work and had used a back roads way in, and as I cross the bridge across Elk Creek, I espy fisherman going for some late season Salmon and Trout.  Also in the background is a trestle bridge.  This bridge is normally hidden behind tree foliage.  Being February, all the leaves are off, and you can see it.

After work, on my way home in the evening, I stopped for gasoline, and the window and car decal caught my attention.  Topless was not on my mind in February.

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due

As blog title implies, I owe some credit, and I am not going to allow this one to be become over due.  The other day, i was talking on phone with my sister Ree.  And I said, soon, I will need to call her Ron, for a techie question.  She in good nature asked what my problem was.  If you knew her in person, normally when some talk goes Technical, all she hears "Blah, Blah, Blah Blah, Blah. switch.

Well, I figured what the heck, I will let her know.  I figured after a few sentences, She would say back to me, All I heard was Blah Blah Blah.  I had told her, that some how my photo viewer had some how changed, and about half of the photos in my files could be viewed with one type of viewer, while others were with another one.  I had wanted to reset to just one viewer.

Lo and Behold, She said, "Wait a minute, I just had to deal with that the other day.  Let me think what I did."  Surprise surprise, she DID KNOW what to do.  She said do this and do this, and when this menu drops, click on restore Default view, and Blink, it was done!

For a non technical person, she did know what to do with this one, so, KUDOS to you REE, You did have the right solution, and you knew what I was talking about.
