I HAD A DREAM

As the title states, I HAD A DREAM.  This not to be confused with Martin Luther King, but, I did have a dream the other night, and it was a vivid one. This was one of those scary ones that awaken yourself right at the height of the action.

I do not know if it was something out of the ordinary I ate that evening before I went to bed or what. But, I had one of those dreams where you kick out in real life as you sleep.  I cannot recall another time that this has ever happened to me before.  I have awakened once or twice where I have twitched, but never before anything like this.

The dream had me in the back seat of me vehicle in the midst of a riot like crowd outside. I had all doors and windows closed and locked, and I was just hoping to survive what was going on outside. And before you think too far, no, it was not zombies. Was just a crazed mob.  The vehicle was being rocked back and forth on its wheels.  The windows were being slapped and hit upon by hands and people were just screaming. I did not want to exit.

Finally, a few of the rowdiest had broken a hole in my front windshield, and one was climbing in feet first into the drivers seat. I sat there and waited, and once he started to get ready to climb into back seat with me, I was ready, and had my arm cocked and ready to deliver. As soon as his head was next to the headrest, I let go and punched directly in face. He fell back and when he started to come once again, I was again ready and Shoulder was back as far as I could get it, and I was ready to strike out again.

Once, twice, three times I hit out, but the funny thing is, the sound of the hit on the face did not sound right, nor did it feel right. Sounded as though I hit my lamp shade. Funny how I heard that sound when I was hitting a face full on. Well, that is the point where I had awoken myself from the dream. It was only near 4 AM but I was ready to hit any other antagonist near me. Not seeing any in the dark room, I did notice that my lamp on end table was missing.  That was the sound I had heard. I had actually struck out in my sleep and clobbered the end table lamp.

At least the lamp will not sue me for bodily harm.  Now, I just did not want to investigate in the middle of the night any further. I figured what is done, is done, and it will still be there in the morning. Comes to find, . I put a couple of holes through the inner lining of the shade, and cracked it about half way around the lamp. Not only that, I not only knocked over the lamp, I actually made it fly.  It did not just get knocked over, the base was actually sitting in the next chair, and shade was on the far arm rest. Whew, at least I did not break the bulb and have to worry about the glass.

The above shows the holes and cracked inner liner.

This is where the lamp ended up at.
And this is the normal position of the lamp, and you can see the distance I punched it.

I guess, it may be a good thing that I am single, and live alone, or else I may have been arrested for assault and battery upon my wife, and she would be suing me for divorce.

Aaah, we ARE related! That just might give you more nightmares, but it's the truth!

Sorry you had such a bad dream, brother. I totally feel your pain. I'm glad you're ok.

Relatively speaking.

I am happy u didn't get injured in your dream, otherwise I found it hilarious,(the outcome, not your being surrounded by the mob, definitely not). Wish u cute dreams to compensate for the distress
