You can see in the photo above clearly a whole and complete looking roof. I do know that it was just on the East side of the building, but that was to be the view from the McBride Viaduct. The viaduct is on the right side of the photo, and it is closed for motor vehicles. This view is facing kinda North. Not true North, but all Erieites knows Erie North of which is to the Lake. Alas, I wish the sight was as good looking from the Bayfront Highway. First view is again facing North, but this is the West side of same building.
This is the view we see. The eaves are falling onto, and through the roof on the left edge of the roof. Look at all the holes. Not a good site for people to see upon entering into downtown Erie from the Highways is it?
These are the views from the southbound lanes of the same set of buildings. This is the face we give to people coming to Erie. Why has it sat like this for a number of years without having the city do something about this urban blight? All thru the construction of the Bayfront connector, these buildings were in disrepair. This has been ongoing for years, why can nothing be done? Why can we not force the owners to either repair, or tear down the structures. What sort of hazards are there just letting these building sit abandoned.

As you said to me, go to city council. Find out when the next meeting is, call the councilperson for that district and/or your district. Start the noise to MAKE it happen.
That is truly an eyesore in the city.
It's very sad to me to see these buildings falling down. My very first "real" job was at Zurn, right at the base of the viaduct! I still remember grandpa Rovnak walking us to the top of the viaduct to watch all the train activity down below! Now the area looks even WORSE than a ghost town ... it's a garbage dump.
